A trust-based collaborative approach

We believe design for innovations must be collaborative in nature, trust as a core value, and benefit to all as a goal. Designers or innovators need to build and maintain trust which is the foundation of collaboration and holds a collaborative network to produce knowledge and innovations. Therefore, a trust-based collaborative approach taking a comprehensive analysis and bringing stakeholders in the design reflects a desire to understand how systems are interrelated and caused to become real and meaningful and to act on that knowledge. We also argue that in order to deliver the benefits of innovations to the society at large, every innovation or design must be accessible to everyone if it is not at the level of an individual then at the level of a group or community. So, iTogether Approach is a trust-centric holistic collaborative approach with the goal of innovations for all.

iTogether Approach for Social Innovations

The three principles of iTogether are Collaboration, Trust, and Innovations for all. The main reason for these principles is to mitigate the risk of negative consequences of innovations that come with numerous benefits of innovations through the following ways

  • – taking a collaborative approach – engaging all stakeholders will help to understand how innovation can contribute to all; reduce the risk of the potential damages from the implementation of the innovations and mitigate the fear of the innovations

  • – building and maintaining strong trust – trusted environment hold collaborative networks, allow to share ideas of different perspectives and build social capital to accelerate the innovations

  • – access for all – minimize the chance of social inequality, anxiety, and maintain social harmony and socio-economic balance
